Smith-Cotton Army Drill Meet
When: Saturday, February 20, 2010
Where: Smith-Cotton High School - Sedalia, MO
On Saturday February 20th the Ozark High School Junior ROTC Drill Team traveled to Sedalia, MO to compete in the 5th Annual Smith Cotton JROTC Drill Meet. There were 20 schools from three States participating in two divisions (Armed & Unarmed) with a total of seven events. The seven events were Armed Color Guard, Platoon Armed Regulation Drill, Platoon Armed Exhibition Drill, Unarmed Color Guard, Platoon Unarmed Regulation Drill, Platoon Unarmed Exhibition Drill and New Cadet Squad.

The Ozark Drill Team was very competitive and finished in each Division as follows:

 In the Armed Division the Ozark Drill Team placed 1st out of 20 Schools.
 Armed Color Guard event. 5th Place. Color Guard Members were Cadets Caleb Agee, Lucas Huck, Lucas Fellner and Ethan Gies
 Platoon Armed Regulation Drill event. 1st Place. Cadet Caleb Agee commanded this platoon.
 Platoon Armed Exhibition Drill event. 5th Place. Cadet Lucas Huck commanded this platoon.

 In the Unarmed Division the Ozark Drill Team placed 4th out of 20 schools.
 Unarmed Color Guard event. 5th Place. Color Guard members were Cadets Ashley Skelton, Sammie Norris, Jessica Bateman and Alexis Six
 Platoon Unarmed Regulation Drill. 3rd Place Cadet Sammie Norris commanded this platoon.
 Platoon Unarmed Exhibition Drill. 8th Place. Cadet Sammie Norris commanded this platoon.

 New Cadet Squad. Ozark finished 1st and 3rd. The first place squad was commanded by first year Cadet Tracey Wallace and the third place squad was commanded by first year Cadet Logan Hunt.

Once again the Ozark JROTC Drill team has represented Ozark High School, Ozark School District, and the Ozark Community in a professional manner and with a winning attitude. The 52 members of this Drill Team put in many long hours of practice and are to be commended for their dedication and determination to compete against other outstanding JROTC programs from all Military Services.

The Smith Cotton Junior ROTC program hosted and conducted and extremely efficient and competitive drill meet. They are too commended on a job well done.
